delivery (eBill) program. In honor of this milestone, Vectren awarded the customer, Shannon Wilson of Evansville, Ind., with a $500 Visa® gift card as well as a donation of the same amount to the organization of her choice.
“The convenience of eBill makes it simple for me to view my bill and pay it within a few, easy steps,” said Wilson. “When I was notified of my prize, I couldn’t have been more surprised. As an animal lover, I am thrilled to be able to donate $500 to the Vanderburgh Humane Society in the hopes that it will help save the lives of many animals.”
Since first offering the electronic bill option in 2004, Vectren customers receiving their monthly utility bill via email has continued to rise, eliminating the traditional paper bill and providing faster delivery than standard mail. Once enrolled in the free service, Vectren sends a monthly email, which includes a link to view the current and previous 24 billing statements online. From this view, customers can easily click to pay online via their checking account or credit card, or they can pay by mail.
“About 20% of our customers have enrolled to receive their bills electronically, and that number continues to grow at a steady rate,” said Doug Petitt, chief information officer and vice president of information technology and customer service. “Offering customers an easy way to access information related to their accounts is another example of our continuous efforts to improve our customers’ experience.”
