- ABOUT ME: Welcome and thank you for visiting EvansvilleWatch! A little bit about me...My name is William (Bill) Merkel. I live on Evansville's west side and I have lived in the city all my life. I graduated from Reitz High School (class of '82). I did attend college at University of Evansville, but I did not get a degree. I left college to pursue a career in EMS and became an Emergency Medical Technician working for Bassemeier Ambulance & Wheelchair Service and then as an Advanced Emergency Medical Technician and Operations Manager at Comaier Ambulance Service. I've been married to Kim for 24 years and we have 3 boys (well, now young men!)...Blake, Brett and Josh. We also have 2 spoiled kids...Rennie, a boxer-mix and Copper, a beagle-mix. I am a life long member of St. Paul's UCC in the city.
- ABOUT EVANSVILLEWATCH: EvansvilleWatch is a social media incident alert site that covers the tri-state area of southeast Illinois, southwest Indiana and northwest Kentucky. Social media was becoming wildly popular in 2009 and I decided to utilize this platform to disseminate helpful/useful information to the tri-state area. EW started posting updates via Twitter and online in August 2009. We added Facebook in September 2010 and Google+ in 2011. EvansvilleWatch is maintained by an all volunteer staff as a service to our tri-state community.
